How long is a standard appointment with a counsellor?
Each session is 50-60 minutes on average. Sessions depend on the Client.
Do you recommend anywhere specific to have Counselling?
Have a quiet and safe space for consultations free from distractions and where you can discuss confidential matters. Make sure you have time before – to set up and after the appointment to reflect on what has been discussed and ensure phones, etc., are turned on silent during the consultation.
How will the Counsellor engage with me if they are in a different place?
The Counsellor will find ways to create trust within the professional relationship. They will take into consideration if you have any specific concerns, physical disabilities or compromised hearing vision.
How Long will the Counselling take, and how many Sessions will there be?
Each session is 50-60 minutes on average. Sessions depend on the Client.
How much does each Session Cost?
The initial counselling session cost is $150.00, and thereafter, it is $130.00 (based on 50-60 minutes). Fees can vary depending on the time for each session. A fee may be charged for writing reports, administrative tasks, etc. (discretionary).
There are no rebates from Medicare.
Rebates may be available from your health fund.
Will my information be kept confidential?
The Health Records Act 2001 and the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 state that Personal information can only be collected, disclosed, and retained for the performance of the working function of the Counsellor.
Where can I have my online counselling?
The benefit of online Counselling is that it can be carried out anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
